The method involves determining a parameter representing aging effect of an electrochemical cell by measurements and a no-load voltage model of the electrochemical cell provided by software executed on a programmed computer, where the model connects a voltage of the electrochemical cell to a charge (C) of the electrochemical cell at temperature, by using the parameter. Residual capacity of the cell is calculated by using the model and the parameter, where number of the series of measurements is greater than or equal to number of parameters of the model. |
