PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a galvanic cell, suitable for intermittent use of a flash device by adding a solid alkaline electrolyte to a cathode material of the galvanic cell. SOLUTION: A highly diffusible carbon-containing material and a polymer binder are mixed with powdery MnO2 , the mixture is compressed and formed in powder, a solid alkaline electrolyte is mixed with the mixed powder and the mixture is compressed to form a ring-shaped cathode. A gelled anode is filled 1 through a separator on the cathode, an aqueous alkaline electrolyte is added to the anode to manufacture a galvanic cell. The particle size of the highly dispersible carbon-containing material is limited to 0.10-10μm, and the amount of the solid alkaline electrolyte to be added is limited to 5-10wt.%. The galvanic cell with a low internal resistance, high-voltage level, and high intermittent discharge performance is obtained.
