PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gradation display technique by which the quality of a moving picture is prevented from being deteriorated. SOLUTION: This display device is provided with a part where plural sub- fields are arrayed in such turn that the display terms thereof become longer. Besides, they are arrayed so that the arraying number of the sub-field actuated last in a preceding field is set to be more backward than one sub-field actuated in a following field within the field when gradation is changed to the second gradation which is formed in the display term of one sub-field actuated in the following field and which is one-level higher than the first gradation obtained by combining five or more sub-fields in the preceding field from the first gradation between the mutually adjacent fields.
