IMAGE DISPLAY MEDIUM AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD, AS WELL AS INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display medium and image forming method capable of simply forming images or information different for every sheet on an object for transference as well as an information recording medium, and a process for producing the same. SOLUTION: A transfer medium obtd. by forming a pattern forming layer 23 having a release layer 22 and a relief surface 23a formed with diffraction gratings on a base 21 and successively forming a reflective thin-film layer 24 and an adhesive layer 25 on the relief surface 23a of the pattern forming layer 23 is used and the information recording parts consisting of dot images or rectangular bars are transferred and formed by a thermal head (the member to be transferred) onto a base material. The pattern forming layer 23 has pattern areas formed with diffraction grating patterns of one or different spatial frequencies and is capable of forming the plural diffraction grating images.
