PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wide listenable range in which listeners can feel a stereophonic sound field by reproducing binaural stereophonic sound signals by a group of couples of speakers through signal processing means which convert the binaural stereophonic sound signals into transaural stereophonic sound signals. SOLUTION: A 1st voice processing means 10 inputs a monaural voice signal and performs sound image localization operation to generate a binaural stereophonic sound signal. Then 2nd voice processing means 12-1 to 12-n generate transaural stereophonic sound signals from binaural stereophonic sound signals and drive couples of left and right speakers 14L-1 and 14R-1 to 14L-n and 14R-n respectively. The transaural stereophonic sound signals are so generated that the respective voice signals from speakers 14L-1 to 14L-n and the voice signals from the speakers 14R-1 to 14R-n have no crosstalk. Consequently, a natural sound field which provides wide-range stereophony can be obtained and listeners can feel the sound field providing stereophony. |
