PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly process a digital photodetection data by the use of only one expensive A/D converting circuit by selecting and converting photodetection data from respective photodetection parts into digital signals in order, and inputting them on a time-division basis. SOLUTION: Analog photodetection signals outputted from the respective photodetection parts 4 are sent to data input terminals IN0 -IN15 of a selecting circuit 5. The selecting circuit 5 selects one of the analog photodetection signals inputted to the data input terminals IN0 -IN1 5 according to respective values of 4-bit select signals inputted to select signal input terminals CAO0 -CA3 and outputs it from a data output terminal OUT. The data output terminal OUT of the selecting circuit 5 is connected to the analog input terminal of an A/D converting circuit 6. Then 12-bit digital photodetection data are outputted from the digital output terminal of the A/D converting circuit 6 and a microcomputer 7 performs arithmetic processing.
