<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a discharge lamp-lighting device with the narrow-width structure and having high efficiency, so as to mount the discharge lamp lighting device in a narrow space of a large computer by providing a step-up trans former, of which outer leg core has a cross sectional area nearly equal to that of an intermediate leg core. SOLUTION: In the case where cross sectional area of an outer leg core is set nearly equal to that of an intermediate leg core, effective cross sectional area of the whole depends on the cross-sectional area of the intermediate leg core. With this structure, since even in the case where one outer leg core is used in place of both the outer leg cores, effective cross sectional area hardly changes, so that the width can be narrowed without hindering the efficiency. A liquid crystal module 2 has a built-in cathode-ray lamp 14 and is electrically connected to an output connector 11 of a discharge lamp-lighting device 3.</p> |
