PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device of a microwave discharge lamp so as to be miniaturized. SOLUTION: A lighting device of a microwave discharge lamp comprises a cavity 7 within which a lamp 2 including rare gases and luminescent materials is disposed, a microwave generation means, and a waveguide 1 for guiding a microwave electromagnetic field generating from a microwave generation means to the cavity 7. A supporting rod 3 for supporting the lamp 2 is supported by a bearing 15, and a nozzle 9 for cooling the lamp 2 is disposed so as to deviate from the rotation center axis of the lamp 2. |
