PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle navigation system having such a device that vehicle are not projected from a stop line of an intersecting point when stopped. SOLUTION: A receiver 27 receives position information of a stop line of an intersecting point which is next passed and switching time information of a signal at this intersecting point. A processor 24 calculates a present position of the vehicle from an output of sensors 11, 12, 13. A signal color of a present time of a signal is calculated from time information, and a distance from the vehicle to a stop line of the intersecting point is calculated from the position information and present position of the vehicle. A speed of vehicles is measured from an output of the sensor 13, and a stop distance required to stop the vehicle is calculated from this speed. When a signal color is red and a distance from the vehicle to the stop line of the intersecting point is less than a stop distance, a message representing warning is output to a speaker 28 or a display 17. |
