Metalling spreader for roads

The spreader has a ramp (26) to divert the flow of material to the soil. A hopper (13) has an opening in its lower part (13c) which opens onto a spreader (23) to guide the material towards the soil. The spreader is mounted with respect to the ramp to provide spreading of the material after the binder when the vehicle is moving forwardly. A second spreader (24) is mounted with respect to the ramp such that when the vehicle reverses the material is deposited after the binding. A flap assembly (27) is provided to deflect the flow of material to the outlet or towards the first or second spreaders.
