The procedure consists of pre-printing the pictures or designs on a woven or non-woven textile fabric which has an adhesive coating on one surface. The fabric can be, for example, silk, rayon, synthetic fibres or cotton, and it is stuck onto a backing of a traditional material which can be rigid, semi-rigid or supple, opaque, translucent or transparent and of various thicknesses, such as paper, card, natural or reconstituted wood, vinyl, PVC, glass or sheet metal. The printing can be applied by silk screen in one or more operations, using ink, varnish or paint.
