PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly and efficiently input flaw removal regions or flaw types or the like on metal plates having various shapes. SOLUTION: A movable guide 15 is moved toward a fixed guide 13 for shifting a metal plate 8 toward the fixed guide 13 for positioning to specify a single origin position P defining a flaw region, and a spot light source 21 of a portable instructing device 2 is illuminated to have it read by an image pickup device 4. The flaw region is specified in a rectangle, the spot light source 21 of the portable instructing device 2 is positioned sequentially at two diagonal vertexes of the specified rectangle to have the position of the light source 21 read by the image pickup device, coordinates of the two positions are calculated with the origin position P as reference, and the flaw region is correctly specified in a short time from the two calculated coordinates.
