<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high intensity electric field with a simple method by setting a geometric parameter representing a particle film state to a value within a specified range. SOLUTION: When a certain geometric parameter (x) representing distribution state of particles forming particle films 4 is chosen, and a large number of particle films 4 are formed while gradually changing the parameter (x), conductance of the particle film 4 is expressed as C(x). The conductance C(x) varies monotonously from the state of substantially zero up to a finite value and rises up steeply from a boundary of a critical xc of the parameter (x). Because of variation in diameters of particles constituting the particle films 4 and randomness in the particle distribution, a linear electric field concentration zone 5 is formed in the particle film 4 between element electrodes 2 and 3 by controlling that the parameter (x) approximately meets the critical xc . This makes it possible to produce a high intensity electric field without forming an additional high resistance zone.</p> |
