PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a direct copy at all times irrelevantly to the capacity of a flash memory when information stored in a memory in an external device is written in the flash memory in a main body device. SOLUTION: The FMEM(flash memory) 13 can have its stored contents erased in block units. An EPROM 21 is also divided into blocks and an IPL and a rewriting program for the flash memory are stored in one of the blocks. A selector 14 switches the allocation of the address space of a CPU 11 with a selector operation select signal 23. When an external panel 20 is connected to a CPU panel 10, an address pace for starting the IPL is assigned to the block of the EPROM 21 where the IPL is stored. After the IPL is started, control is moved to the rewriting program for the flash memory and while the selector 14 switchs the address space, data are copied from one block of the EPROM 21 to one block of the FMEM 13 repeatedly a specific number of times.
