PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict a generation of NOx of a burner device, wherein amounts of air supplied to first and second burners are made different from each other such that rich-fuel mixture gas is supplied to the first burners while lean-fuel mixture gas is supplied to the second burners and the flame of the second burners are held by the flame of the first burners. SOLUTION: Rich-fuel mixture gas is supplied to burner portions 1a, while lean-fuel mixture gas is supplied to burner portions 1b, and these burner portions 1a, 1b carry out their combustion independently. Provided that the theoretical air a mountλis set to be 1, an air ratio of the mixture gas supplied to the burners 1a, 1b is set to be approximately 0.4 (λ≈0.4) at the rich-fuel mixture gas side while it is set to be approximately 1.2-1.5 (λ≈1.2-1.5) at the lean-fuel mixture gas side. Furthermore, the ratio of fuel gas amounts supplied to the burners 1a, 1b is determined such that the fuel gas amount supplied to the burners 1a relative to the fuel gas amount supplied to the burners 1b is approximately set to 3 to 7. In this manner, since the combustion gas amount of the lean-fuel mixture gas is greater than that of the rich-fuel mixture gas, the amount of NOx generated by the burner device can be minimized.
