PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to perform radioactivity measurement capable of lowering the detection limit radioactivity of a nuclide which emits gamma rays of lower energy, by least-square fitting and evaluating the background component to the gamma rays of lower energy. SOLUTION: The detection limit counted value N of 3σof a peak area corresponding to an energy being observed can be represented by N which satisfies formula [I]. So the detection limit counted value must be made relatively smaller by making a background counted value as much as possible, in the case of not detecting energy spectrum information. While, in the case of detecting the energy spectrum information, it is possible to diminish the measurement error of the peak area and the background measurement error in formula [I] by fitting a spectrum obtained by the measurement, so it is possible to make the peak detection limit counted value being observed smaller relatively. Accordingly, it is possible to lower the detection limit radioactivity.
