PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm and display the reception of electronic mail, without a modem control terminal by storing once executed communication operation and reproducing a stored communication protocol, when it is desired to confirm the reception of electronic mail. SOLUTION: Two operating modes of a communication protocol storage mode and a communication protocol reproducing mode are added to a conventional modem. The communication protocol storage mode is a mode for the modem to prepare single operation, and the communication protocols clearly distinguished into transmission data and reception data are stored in the order of execution. The communication protocol reproducing mode is a mode for reproducing the stored protocols and at such times, the modem plays the role of a terminal even without its own terminal. Then, when there is a received electronic mail at the time of log-in with a communication center, data reported from that communication center are received and displayed on the modem. |
