PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to select many timbres with a mail memory capacity of a device for selecting the timbres of the musical tones formed in accordance with a received timbre selection command. SOLUTION: Plural first memory sections (11a) for timbre selection commands of a first kind and second memory sections (11b) for timbre selection commands of second kind are prepd. Which first memory section among the plural first memory sections (11a) is to be referenced is first determined by referring to the second memory sections (11b) by the command value of the timbre selection command of the second kind. The corresponding timbres are read out of this first memory section by referencing the first memory section selected in the manner described above by the assigned value of the timbre selection command of the first kind. |
