摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display device with which multi-level gradations are embodied and a grade is high by varying the film thickness and surface rough ness of color filters in one unit (color pixel). SOLUTION: This element has the color filters on at least one electrode substrate. These color filters have plural regions varying in the film thickness and surface roughness (of the color filters) in one unit (color pixel). A method for shifting a photomask 3 is adequate as a method IK for varying an exposure by each of the plural regions in the one unit (color pixel). Namely, the apertures 4 formed at the photomask 3 have a size of one-third the size of the one pixel. Exposure is executed by shifting the photomask 3 by one-third the pixel, thereby changing the exposure after the exposure at the prescribed exposure. Further, the exposure is executed by shifting the photomask 3 by one-third the pixel, thereby changing the exposure. Then, the film thickness of the color filters is large and the surface roughness is small in the regions where the exposure is large in an exposure operation. The film thickness of the color filters is small and the surface roughness increases in the regions where the exposure is small.
