<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an operability in a device setting and to enhance the cost by displaying a page of an instruction manual corresponding to a setting operation content onto a menu display a screen. SOLUTION: When an instruction manual display key 9b of a remote controller 9 is depressed, key entry information is supplied to a channel selection control section 3 via a key entry reception circuit. The channel selection control section 3 selects a display memory used for menu display among a plurality of display memories provided to an on-screen display controller 6 based on key entry information. An on-screen display controller 6 reads out display data from a selected display memory to generate each color signal, which is given to a color signal changeover circuit 7. As a result, a menu screen used to set a device is displayed on the screen on which a video signal is displayed. In this case, a corresponding page of an instruction manual in response to the device setting content is displayed on the menu screen. Thus, a user immediately recognizes the corresponding page of the instruction manual and the common use with the instruction manual is smoothed and the operability is improved.</p> |
