PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable accurate positioning of a garter spring by providing a seal which has one side surface suitable for forming a seal band and a part of a seal lip body, and the other side surface suitable for positioning and supporting the garter spring. SOLUTION: A casing part is covered with an elastomer material 20 which has a circular outer diameter cover 22 provided with an external installation part 24 and a circular axial flange inner surface cover part 26. A circumferentially extending garter spring 38 is embedded in a seal lip body 30 which is provided with a headed comical oil side surface 32 and headed conical air side surface 34. Both surfaces are connected to each other along an acute edge to form a seal band 36 being in contact with a mechanical member. The lip body 30 has an outer surface 39 in the continuous radial direction, and spring positioning device inlet surfaces 40, 42 with fine gaps in the radial and axial directions. The spring can be accurately positioned, accordingly. |
