FIELD: mechanical engineering; single-acting shock absorbers with plastically deformable elements; railway transport for attachment of containers with explosive cargo to reduce probability of explosion in case of collision. SUBSTANCE: constant resistance force is created in this device over length of working stroke which is optimal for impact protective shock absorbers. Shock-absorbing coupler includes plastically deformable member located in passage with matrix 1 with sections of varying curvature. This deformable member is made in form of metal strip or wire.
