FIELD: rocketry. SUBSTANCE: solid-propellant rocket engine includes charge and housing with igniter fitted in its nozzle. Igniter has delivery orifice at end of charge. Engine is also provided with splitter directed to igniter and made in form of circular groove with radius profile. Angle of between tangents to radius profile of groove at points of their intersection with tup of splitter ranges from 60 to 90 deg. Diameter of delivery orifice of igniter exceeds diameter of splitter top. Distance between end of charge and igniter is found from relationship L=(6-10)d, where L is distance between end of charge and igniter and d is diameter of delivery orifice.
