PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for newly mounting rubber boots, etc., for protecting necks and to enable easy production by making the thickness of a fixing substrate thinner on the surface opposite to the surface where the substrate comes into contact with optical fibers along the optical axis direction of the optical fibers from the optical fiber end faces toward the optical fiber coating parts. SOLUTION: The optical fibers 31 to 34 are installed and the front surfaces thereof are covered with the substrate 11 for fixing the optical fibers and are fixed by adhesives 51. The base of an aligning substrate 21 is formed with a tapered part 22 from mid-way toward the optical fiber coating parts 36 from the optical fiber end faces along the optical axis direction to make the substrate thickness gradually smaller. The front surface of the substrate 11 for fixing the optical fibers is similarly formed with a tapered part 22 from mid-way toward the optical fiber coating parts 36 from the optical fiber end face parts along the optical axis direction to make the substrate thickness gradually smaller. The substrate thickness at the final end is so determined as not to be extremely different from the thickness of the optical fiber coating parts 36. |
