An object of this invention is to provide protein cofactors required for proper folding of the structural molecules .alpha.- and .beta.-tubulin. A further object of this invention is to provide nucleic acids which encode tubulin-folding cofactors and methods for the production of such protein cofactors. Yet, a further object of the invention is to provide methods for identifying agents which can interfere with the folding of alpha - and beta -tubulins so that cell division can be modulated. |
