Plastic sleeve for electrical cable fittings

A plastic sleeve (1) for cable fittings for the production of joints, branches and sealing ends, and of crossovers and house connections from insulated electrical cables, with cable bushing tubes and with or without cast resin feed necks, and made up of one or more parts or shells. The plastic used for this sleeve consists of injection-mouldable, biologically-produced, biodegradable polyhydroxy-alkanoate (PHA). Preferred PHA is made up of biologically produced lactate units or malate monomer units; the former type of polymer is biodegradable by ester hydrolysis, the latter by ester hydrolysis or decarboxylation.
