GUITAR SUPPORT

A device for supporting a guitar whilst it is being played, comprising: a base member, removably attachable to that wall of a guitar's body which is lowermost with the guitar in its normal ready-to-play orientation; and an arm, contoured along at least part of its length so as to fit a player's leg; one end of said arm being hingeably attached to said base member such that the arm is moveable between a "closed" position wherein said arm lies substantially parallel to said base member and an "opened" position wherein said arm projects at an angle, preferably an approximate right angle, from the base member; and means - preferably means other than the guitar wall - restraining the arm, in use, from hinging beyond a fully-opened position; the sizing, shaping and disposition of the arm and the base being such that, with the arm in its fully-opened position, at least part of the contoured surface of the projecting arm then contacts the player's leg so as to maintain support of the guitar on the player's leg.
