The bollard has a tubular shaft (16) and an adaptor (18) to fasten it to a baseplate (22). The adaptor has a forked section (32) with two projecting legs (34), engaging into the shaft. The legs are held on the shaft by at least one bolt (38), which passes through a longitudinal opening (36) in legs or shaft wall. The forked section is a U-shaped flat iron. The shaft is formed by the lower end of a vertical metal inner tube (14) within the bollard body (10).
