Anchorage nut embedded in moulded composite or rubberised material

A hat-shaped embedded cap-nut consists of a shaft section (12) and flange (13) extending from the end of the shaft. The other end of the nut is closed by a cap (14) forming an extension of the shaft. The flange, shaft and cap all form part of a single component made from a single piece of metal. The shaft has the form of a hollow cylinder, whose inner face has a thread (15). The cap and flange have a non-circular form as seen in plan-view, preventing unwanted rotation of the nut during tightening. Also claimed is a process for manufacturing the nut using especially plastic deformation of metal.
