The low pressure (LP) fluorescent lamp has a mantle stage B and a socket C that has a starter stage D and a connector socket E. The mantle is formed with a three dimensional configuration having three tubes 10A,10B,10C that are U- shaped and have bridging sections to connect them together. The tubes are evacuated and filled with mercury and inert gas, and are formed with cold points 50 on the surface.
