<p>The present invention relates to materials and methods for the diagnosis, prophylactic and therapeutic treatment of papillary renal cell carcinoma. It has been found that the t(X;1) translocation found in papillary renal cell carcinoma results in the fusion of the TFE3 transcription factor gene to various other fusion partners. Therefore, the present invention allows the identification of a characteristic fusion product comprising a TFE3 sequence associated with a fusion partner.</p> |
