In colour photographic material with red-, green- and blue-sensitive silver halide (AgX) emulsion layer(s) containing cyan, magenta and yellow couplers respectively and optionally other light-insensitive layer(s), at least one of the layers contains colour coupler(s) and aliphatic nitrile(s) of formula R<1>-CN (I); in which R<1> = alkyl, cycloalkyl or alkenyl.
