Laser pulse generation method for solid state resonator in optoelectronics

The pulse generation method creates laser pulses (16) by use of a solid state laser. The laser medium (10) is pulse pumped with a beam source (18). With variation of the pulse frequency of the laser pulse the duty cycle of the pump beam pulse is adjusted such that the incident optical power generates an essentially constant thermal lens. The quality circuit is triggered for a fixed time period after the start of a pump pulse. The solid state laser system has a laser medium, a pump radiation source and a quality switch (20). The system also has controls (22,24) for the source and the switch.
