<p>A network connection system includes a first adapter unit AU (201) connected to first multiple networks (221, 223, 225) and a bridge network (200) and a second AU (202) connected to second multiple networks (222, 224, 226) and to the bridge network (200). The first AU (201), in response to a request from a node on one of the second multiple networks sends a request signal to the second AU (202) that the service is requested, and the second AU (202) in response to the request signal checks the availability of the service, and completes the connection only if the service is available. In preferred embodiments the multiple networks can be any mix of available network protocols, and the bridge network (200) can be a telephone connection, such as an Integrated Services Digital Network.</p> |
