<p>Hosts 1a and 1b and printers 2a-2c are connected to a printer controller 5. Processing means 20 of the printer controller 5 makes the rounds of the printers 2a-2c, collects printer information, and stores the collected printer information in a RAM 23 as update information. When image information is sent from the host 1a, it is compared with the printer information stored in the RAM 23 and the printer 2b having the printer information matching the image information is selected.
