<p>The vehicle semi-rigid steel rear axle has a tubular shaped median zone constituting the cross member (3). The section of the median zone is such that it confers to this zone a bending resistance and a capability of torsional deformation. Each of the ends (10,11) of the cross member is extended by two open tube sections (12-15) which form between them at the start of the cross member a dihedral angle (D) less than 180 degrees. One of the two sections (12,14) of each end, the connecting section, provides the fixing to the bodywork. The other two sections (13,15) of each end, the arm section, provide the fixing for the axle heads carrying the wheels.</p> |
