PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately calculate a step range even when a running speed varies during the running of a user by determining the step range utilizing the running speed before any change in rotational speed of a motor even when the change occurs during the running of the user in an exercising training apparatus which allows changing of the running speed without interruption of training. SOLUTION: A rotational speed sensor 5 is provided to detect the driving speed of a motor 3, a landing detection circuit 10 to detect the landing of a user on a running surface 1a of a belt 1 and a step range calculating circuit 16 to calculate a moving distance of the belt 1 until the user lands by integrating the driving speed of the motor 3 detected by the rotational speed sensor 5 based on a landing detection signal from the landing detection circuit.
