摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining hit or miss capable of greatly increasing the fun of games with higher possibility for hitting by setting a much larger number of hit arrays than before even with a fewer number of symbol displaying areas. SOLUTION: In the method for determining hit or miss of a symbol matching game machine with symbol displaying areas arranged in m rows and n columns, at least one location of the symbol displaying areas is designated for every column when the number of bet is one. With another increase in the number of bet, at least one more location of symbol displaying areas is additionally designated for each column. At the time of determining hit or miss, all the arrays of the symbols displayed in at least one designated symbol displaying area selected from symbol displaying areas designated for every column are compared in turn with a predetermined hit array, and all the arrays of symbols which match the hit array are determined as hit. For example, at the level that the number of bet is one, the symbol displaying areas d, e, and f in the central row (the II row) are designated as a pay line (the first pay line) and the symbols in this line are determined as hit when they match the predetermined hit symbols.
