PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air filter device capable of making the whole structure compact. SOLUTION: This air filter device is provided with a tank 21 and a parting plate 22 for partitioning the tank 21 into an upper part 21a and an under part 21b. An opening 51 is formed on the parting plate 22 and a cylindrical filter element 3 is arranged on the opening 51 in the upper part 21a. A wire mesh vessel 8 containing active carbon is provided in the under part 21b in accordance with the filter element 3.
