PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new phthalocyanine compound capable of providing a recording medium capable of being reactivated or record-regenerated by a laser beam having 620-690nm wave length and satisfying the condition that the recording medium has >=65% reflection rate by a light having 770-830nm wave length which is a standard for a recordable compact disk. SOLUTION: This phthalocyanine compound is represented by the formula I (R1 to R8 are each an alkyl, an alkoxyalkyl, an alkoxyalkoxyalkyl, etc., with the proviso that in the combination of R1 and R2 , R3 and R4 , R5 and R6 and R7 and R8 , each case that both Rs are alkyls or the one is an alkyl and the other is an alkoxyalkyl or an alkoxyalkoxyalkyl, is excluded; X is H, a halogen, etc.; M is two Hs, a divalent metal, etc.) The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a new phthalonitrile compound of formula II (R9 and R10 are same as R1 and R2 , respectively) with a metal (derivative). 3,6-Bis(2-ethoxyethoxy) phthalonitrile is exemplified as the compound of formula II. The compound of formula II is obtained by reacting a compound of formula III with a compound of the formula R13 -D (R13 is same as R1 ; D is a halogen, tolyloxy, etc.). |
