PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel integrated-wheel end system including a clutch system which engages with or disengages from a wheel for its driving, or couples or uncouples it, for switching the wheel motion over between its driven mode and its non-driven mode. SOLUTION: A vehicular integrated-wheel end system 14 includes a clutch which engages with or disengages from a wheel for its drive to switch the wheel motion over between its driven mode and its non-driven mode. A support body 22 is coupled to a vehicle frame, and a slender spindle 50 is mounted in the bearing in the support body 22. The spindle 50 is mounted at its outer end with a wheel, and has at its inner end a flange 50d which extends radially outward and is provided with engaging elements on the circumference. The driven axle is provided at its periphery adjacent to the spindle flange with a plurality of engaging elements 50e. The sliding clutch member can be shifted into its first position where it engages with the engaging elements of both of the spindle 50 and the driving element and couples them to each other for their driving to thereby drive the spindle 50 by the rotational power of the driving element, or into its second position where it uncouples them from each other for their driving to thereby freely rotate the driving element with respect to the spindle 50. |
