PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the releasability of a briquette-type detergent compsn. in the compressed state from the roll of a briquetting machine and thereby improve the productivity of the compsn. by specifying the wt. of a briquette particle contg. a nonionic surfactant and a porous oil-absorbing carrier. SOLUTION: This compsn. has a briquette particle wt. lower than 1.0g and contains 3-40wt.% polyoxyethylene alkyl ether, a nonionic surfactant, having an m.p. of 90 deg.C or higher and an HLB of 5-17 and obtd. by the addition reaction of on average 6-12mol of ethylene oxide to a 12-14C linear or branched prim. or sec. alcohol, 2-30wt.% porous oil-absorbing carrier (e.g. oil-absorbing amorphous silica) having a pore vol. of 50-700cm<3> /g, and 4-7wt.% crystalline alkali silicate such as represented by the formula (wherein M is an element of the group Ia; Me is at least one element selected from among elements of the groups IIa, IIb, IIIa, IVa, and VIII; y/x is 1.5-2.6; z/x is 0.001-1.0; n/m is 0.5-2.0; and w is 0-20). |
