<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an air cleaner in which electrode plates are cleaned easily by providing an ionization part for ionizing dust particles in an air flow and a single pair of an application electrode plate and a dust collection electrode plate which is arranged downstream from the ionization part and constitutes a dust collection part and supporting one electrode plate freely openably in a casing. SOLUTION: A lower part opening 2 and an upper opening 3 are formed in the front lower part and the front upper part of a thin casing 1, respectively, and an ionization part 6 is arranged in the lower part of an air passage P ranging from the opening 2 to the opening 3. The part 6 equipped with an ionization wire 6a and a pair of counter members 6b ionizes dust in air, and an air flow K is generated by ion wind. A dust collection part 7, which is arranged in the air passage P, is composed of a pair of application electrode plate 8 and a dust collection electrode plate 9 which are arranged in parallel. The plate 9 is fixed opposite to the plate 8 on the back 5 a of a front door 5 so that plates 8, 9 are made open only by opening the door 5, facilitating the cleaning of the plates 8, 9.</p> |
