<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a small print head for optical printer at low cost. SOLUTION: A top board 45 and a bottom board 61 are arranged in parallel while sustaining vacuum state between them. The bottom board supports a microchip 41 mounted on a cathode column and a gate line 43 is arranged to intersect the cathode column perpendicularly at the height of the top part of the microchip. The top board 45 is fixed with a fiber bundle buried in a medium. When the microchip is controlled by a driver 63 to emit electrons through field emission, the electrons strikes against a conductive fluorescent screen 44 through an opening 66 to radiate light. The radiated light is fed through a fiber to a photosensitive drum. The fiber bundle has distal end polished to fit the outline of the drum.</p> |
