PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an algae-controlling agent having low toxicity to facilitate the handling and exhibiting high algicidal effect at a low concentration and to provide an algae-controlling method. SOLUTION: This algae-controlling agent contains (A) poly[oxyethylene (dimethyliminio)ethylene dimethyliminio}ethylene dichloride] and (B) poly(hexamethylene biguanide) or its salt as active components. Excellent synergistic algicidal effect can be attained by using the component A and the component B at a weight ratio of 1:10 to 10:1, especially 1:5 to 5:1. |
