PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a vibration attenuation characteristic in the torsional direction by arranging an FRP layer containing a metal foil which is formed by spirally winding a composite tape made up of a laminate of an FRP single layer, a metal foil layer and a fiber-reinforced thermosetting resin layer to reduce excessive torsional deformation of a shaft during swinging. SOLUTION: In a shaft for a golf club, first and second FRP layers 22 and 24 containing a metal foil are either formed by spirally winding a composite tape 6, which has a metal foil layer 2 of a titanium foil tape lined with a tape- shaped fiber-reinforced thermosetting resin layer 4 formed from an epoxy resin layer reinforced by a carbon fiber, on a mandrel with the resin layer 4 inside. The first tubular FRP layer 22 containing the metal foil composing the innermost layer of a tube wall 20 of the shaft is formed and the second FRP layer 24 containing the metal foil is formed on the outer circumferential surface thereof. Moreover, a tubular FRP single layer 26 composing the outermost layer of the tube wall 20 of the shaft is formed on the outer circumferential surface.
|
