<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an aqueous pigment dispersion that has low viscosity at higher pigment concentration and enables well writing in use for utensils by a formulation of pigments, an aqueous medium and a resin for pigment dispersion that contains an oleophilic segment having a polyester chain and a hydrophilic segment having a sulfonic group in a molecule. SOLUTION: This aqueous pigment dispersion, which is composed of pigments, an aqueous medium and resin for pigment dispersion, and has a high pigment concentration and low viscosity, capability of well writing, high clearness of color, excellent aging stability of pigment dispersion and durability of writings or recordings, comprises, as a resin for pigment dispersion, a water-soluble resin which has an oleophilic segment and a hydrophilic segment in a molecule and whose molecular weight is 600-10,000, the oleophilic segment being a polyester linkage chain whose main linkage is ester linkage, and the hydrophilic segment being a sulfonic group (-SO3 H) or its salt group of formula I (M<1> is H, an alkali metal, ammonium, or lower aliphatic tertiary ammonium) or formula II (M<2> is H, an alkali metal, ammonium, lower aliphatic tertiary ammonium, or lower alkyl), etc.</p> |
