PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved assembly of a shield assembly for shielding and protecting a needle with a syringe assembly. SOLUTION: This assembly of a shield assembly with a syringe assembly includes the syringe assembly including a syringe cylinder with a needle cannula projecting from a terminal in the terminal direction and a shield assembly including a guide 42 and a shield 44. The guide is secured to a portion of the syringe assembly 12 at the terminal of the needle cannula 34. The shield includes a support wall and a pair of spaced side walls projecting from the support wall. At least portions of the side walls are sufficiently spaced to accommodate the needle cannula between them. The shield is movable along a passage that is freely slidably engaged with the guide and that extends at an acute angle to and toward the needle cannula, from an end position where the needle cannula is exposed to a terminal position where the needle cannula is shielded between the side walls of the shield. |
