<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pressurized vortex-flow filter with the filter medium semipermanently used without renewing or cleaning it by providing a plate having a small hole at the upper part of the space for supplying pressurized contaminated water and furnishing a gravel bed consisting of a small stone larger than the hole over the plate. SOLUTION: This pressurized vortex-flow filter consists of a filtration tank 1 and a pipeline 4, and the filtration tank 1 is composed of a punched steel plate 2 set at a specified distance from the bottom and a gravel bed 3 furnished over the plate 2. The small stone constituting the gravel bed 3 is made slightly larger than the hole formed in the plate 2. The water in a water tank and other stagnant waters are drawn up by a pump 6, pressurized and supplied from the lower part of the filtration tank 1, the large-sized dust is removed by a strainer 5, and the contaminated water is tangentially supplied from the bottom of the tank to form a vortex flow. Consequently, the deposit and contaminant are micronized, sent into the gravel bed 3 from the small hole of the plate 2 and biologically decomposed. Maintenance is made needless in this way.</p> |
