PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic material feeding interval setting device capable of automatically and accurately adjusting material feeding intervals. SOLUTION: An elevation adjusting platform 30 energized upward at the position immediately under the polishing end (e) of a sanding head is provided and the elevation adjusting platform 30 is pushed down by the polishing end (e),which is relatively lowered with respect to the material feeding surface, while an optimum material feeding interval between the polishing end (e) and the material feeding surface is computed at the basis of the height position of the polishing end (e) when the reference protrusion position of the elevation adjusting platform 30 is detected by a reference sensor S and the material feeding interval is set by the computed value by means of further driving and controlling an elevation driving gear.
